The new Information Blocking regulations became effective April 5. The presentation will summarize what Information Blocking is, the requirements of the newly effective rule, policy implementation, and the rules relationship to existing patient information requirements under HIPAA.

About the Speaker: Joel P. Jones, Jr. is a partner of Campbell Woods, PLLC, a law firm that has served southern West Virginia and the surrounding region since 1935. Mr. Jones received a B.S. in Ecology/Evolutionary Biology from Marshall University, and studied Animal Behaviour at Anglia Ruskin University for a semester as part of his undergraduate coursework. He went on to receive his J. D. from the West Virginia University College of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif. His primary areas of practice include corporate and company transactions, including healthcare related transactions, corporate governance, secured transactions, and creditors’ rights. He currently resides in Huntington, West Virginia with his wife, Ellen.
