About the Speaker

Dr. Katherine Riddle
The OBGYN Group of Eastern Connecticut

Dr. Katherine Riddle grew up in Cheshire, CT, graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, and completed her residency at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. After dedicating time to learn about transgender healthcare, she presented her research to faculty at her residency program's Grand Rounds, and has been passionate about this topic ever since. Some of her other clinical interests include LGBTQ patients, minimally invasive surgery, and contraceptive management.

ABOUT THE WEBINAR

This educational activity will focus on training office staff on sensitivity and inclusion towards the LGBTQ patient population. The program will highlight transgender healthcare disparities and review a brief background of this patient group, emphasizing the importance of this inclusion in the healthcare setting. It will then focus on proper communication and documentation to create a more welcoming environment to the LTBTQ population, including some practice patient examples.
